Position Overview
As a Staff Accountant at Cornerstone Advisory Group, you will deliver tax preparation, planning, and advisory services while building strong client relationships. This role includes business consulting and tax strategies to help clients reduce liabilities and achieve their financial goals. You’ll have opportunities to collaborate with both our tax and financial teams to provide holistic financial planning and proactive, forward-thinking strategies.
What You'll Do
This is a dynamic role and the position includes but is not limited to the following:
- Prepare, review, and file federal, state, and local tax returns accurately and on time for individuals and businesses.
- Assist clients with tax planning to achieve their financial goals.
- Maintain and organize digital and physical financial records.
- Provide support and training to other accountants and team members as needed.
- Conduct bookkeeping and sales tax-related tasks.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements.
- Stay informed on changes in tax laws and industry standards.
- Collaborate with Cornerstone Financial Advisors to refer clients who may benefit from financial advisory services.
- Maintain professional licenses with continuing education (CE).
What You Bring to the Table
Experience:
- Previous experience in public accounting, bookkeeping, or similar client-facing role
- Experience with tax preparation, tax planning, and financial advisory services
- Familiarity with financial statement preparation
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
Licensing: CPA or EA designations preferred (or actively working toward it)
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting software and proficiency in MS Office.
- QuickBooks and ProConnect experience a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with tax laws, bookkeeping, and accounting practices.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
- Passion for delivering excellent client service and building long-term relationships.
Background: Must pass criminal and credit background checks.
